El (ayl):  El comes from the root word meaning “might, strength, power”.  El is mighty in strength and power!  This name is often used as a substitute for “YHVH” and appears over 250 times in the Hebrew Tanakh (Old Testament).

“Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who has declared caused this to be heard from ancient time and antiquity?  Who has told it from that time? Have not I the Lord YAHU’AH?  And there is no God else beside no ELOHIM except me; a just God EL and a Savior, there is none beside final except me.  Look to me Face me, and be ye saved, all the ends and finalities of the earth: for I am God I - EL, and there is none else.”  Isaiah 45:21-22
